A fine three bedroom cottage arranged over two floors, number 3 is owned by an interior designer… and it shows. You’ll find the interiors contemporary, colourful, clear and cool with a sympathetic nod to the age of this delightful building. The best of both worlds!

It’s just a few minutes’ walk to the friendly village pub, as well as being perfectly situated for all Cornwall’s amazing sights and scenes, entertainment and eateries. You’re right on the doorstep of some of the wildest and most beautiful countryside in Britain, from the bleak moorland of Dartmoor to tiny, sunny, secluded coves backed by dramatic cliffs and vast sand dunes. In fact Crantock beach itself, a fantastic stretch of pristine sand loved by sunbathers and surfers alike, is a mere five minutes’ walk away.

Number 3, which deserves a place amongst the finest coastal cottages in Cornwall, is arranged over two floors. There’s slate and wood floors, cosy sofas and deliciously comfy beds. There’s your own parking area and a stunning double-height kitchen area with solid wood units granite worktops. There is even a sturdy log burning stove for intimate nights in. Both ground floor bedrooms have large en-suite shower rooms and on the first floor there’s a bathroom with bath, shower attachment and separate shower (you’ll adore the view from the top floor bathroom… wow!)

As you’d expect, this cottage has all mod cons, from internet access to a well-equipped utility room. As Cornish cottages holidays go, it’s a real little gem! Book 4 Winstowe Terrace for Cornish self catering holidays near Crantock beach

Cottage in CrantockCornish self catering cottages don’t come much nicer than number 4 Winstowe Terrace, if we say so ourselves! It’s a delightful home from home sleeping five grown-ups and one child, plus there’s a travel cot for a small child under two. And the location is superb, wonderfully close to gorgeous Crantock beach.

One of six pretty cottages in a row overlooking Crantock village, it is a wonderfully cosy, recently renovated cottage with an amazingly well equipped modern kitchen that makes holiday catering a pleasure. There’s a hob, fitted oven and microwave plus a dishwasher and everything else you need for an easy, relaxing stay.

You’ll love the power shower, a great way to wake up at the beginning of the day or chill out before bed. There’s also a separate bathroom with loo, sink, bath and shower if you prefer lounging in hot, bubbly water. Plus state of the art gas central heating to keep the chill off in the evenings, Freeview telly and a DVD player.

Perfect for two couples, you’ll find two spacious bedrooms with plenty of storage space. There’s a lovely private enclosed rear garden with a barbecue, a large table and a cool decked area at the bottom, perfect for sunbathing and relaxing with lovely countryside and village views. Best of all the fantastic sandy beach is only ten minutes’ walk away, so you can forget your car for the duration and enjoy a simpler, healthier life walking instead.

The village itself has a couple of friendly pubs, a Londis, Post Office and an excellent art gallery, ideal for classy holiday souvenirs. It’s only a short drive or walk to the stunning South West Coastal Path, Porth Joke beach, the West Pentire headland and more. And you can take your dog too, as long as he or she is well behaved and won’t trash the place!

Cosy Cornish beach cottages – Fall in love with Tresawle

Tresawle Cornish beach cottages don’t come much more cosy than Tresawle, a sturdy, attractive holiday home in Langurroc, Crantock. It takes six adults and one child under two and it’s right in the middle Crantock Village, which makes in marvellously convenient. There’s handy private parking for at least two cars off-street and the gorgeous sandy beach – equally popular with families, couples and surfers alike – is only five minutes’ walk away. So you can ditch the car for the duration if you like!

Tresawle is a large, airy detached house that’s recently been renovated to a wonderfully high standard. We’ve done a fantastic job – if we say so ourselves – and our visitors love it! You’ll enjoy your own sloping private gardens and a useful back garden area too, complete with two patio areas and a lawn. We’ll be finalising the landscaping during winter 2011 but it’s lovely right now, perfect for outdoor fun and games in private.

Indoors there’s two sitting rooms, lots of comfy seating, TV with FreeSat and a DVD player. Plus a fireplace with a log burner to take the chill off and help you create intimate, romantic evenings. There’s an excellent kitchen dining room with a smart double oven, induction hob, big fridge and freezer, dishwasher, filtered water and a microwave.

There’s three bedrooms with lots of storage space, which you can arrange as either two doubles and one twin or two twins and a double. Plus – a real essential for sandy, sunny, happy, grubby Cornish coastal cottages holidays with the kids – a big, spotlessly clean family bathroom with a corner bath, shower, sink and loo.

The living, dining and sitting area is large, bright and attractive with great big leather settees, complete with stylish scatter cushions for true relaxation, a big flat screen TV with DVD player and plenty of table space for dining. And the kitchen is well equipped enough to suit quick snack fans and wannabe chefs alike, with a modern hob, dishwasher and microwave.

Cobb Barn is right in the middle of pretty Crantock village, which nestles sleepily on Cornwall’s dramatic, timeless northern coast. Perfectly suited to all year round holidays, there’s a fab log burning stove for cosy autumn and winter evenings, plus efficient central heating if you need it. The village is a brilliant base for exploring the rest of Cornwall. Cornwall Holiday Cottages No. 1 – Great Weston Farmhouse, Crantock

Nenagh in Crantock We don’t mind blowing our own trumpet a bit when it comes to the interior décor of our twenty two lovely Cornwall holiday cottages. We’ve taken the time to create a real home from home, with smart contemporary interiors in every one. But we’ve also treated them sympathetically, keeping original features wherever possible and giving them pride of place. Here’s our first review – a real family favourite, historic, elegant Great Weston farmhouse in pretty Crantock village.

This gorgeous old sparkling white pebbledash and slate roofed farmhouse sleeps between two and eight people. There’s a cool, spotless downstairs bathroom with a claw foot bath and beautiful glass wall sculpture. The three sumptuous double bedrooms each have their own en suite shower. The beds are made up with luxurious Egyptian linen sheets. The furnishings are attractive and stylish. And the huge living room is divided from the dining area by huge, ancient beams painted white. It’s light, fresh, welcoming and a pleasure to live in. Our so our visitors tell us!

You can’t beat having your own private outdoor space, and we’re proud of the pretty garden at our featured Cornwall holiday cottage, Great Weston Farmhouse. It’s sunny. It’s enclosed by abundant hedging, full of birds in spring and early summer, and flowers. Especially lashings of pink and red Valerian, a real seaside special that attracts all sorts of insects. Look out for amazing hummingbird-like hawk moths and various iridescent beetles at dusk. There’s sturdy garden furniture to relax on and the lawn is manicured beautifully, perfect for sunbathing or midnight picnics in the balmy seaside air.
