Rowan Cottage is the ideal holiday cottage for families, groups of up to 3 couples and is ideal for parties with a guest who would prefer to not go upstairs as the Master Bedroom suite is on the ground floor and is accessible from the front of the house and the rear.

Rowan Cottage is the ultimate get-away. Located in the small hamlet of Tresean, between Cubert and Crantock and only a half a mile walk along a country lane from Cubert Common which leads to Polly Joke Beach.

Rowan Cottage is a detached, beautifully presented, delightful period cottage. The accommodation is laid out over two floors and surrounded by a beautiful garden enclosed by Cornish stone wall and a five bar gate.

Rowan Cottage has an enclosed garden, the front garden faces South West, so benefits from the sun all day, and is laid to lawn with lots of planting and pretty flower beds. There is plenty of room in the garden so surf boards, bikes and beach paraphernalia can be stored. To the rear there is a courtyard garden (decked) which has direct access via french doors from both the Sitting Room and Master Bedroom.

Rowan Cottage will appeal to those who enjoy being able to walk to the beach, yet be a short drive from all of Cornwall's sporting and other attractions. Rowan Cottage is easily accessible to the South West Coastal Path, which will also suit those who like to walk a bit further than to the beach and pub!

Why the owner loves Rowan Cottage:

There are many reasons why we love Rowan Cottage. In our opinion its finest asset is its location: close to local amenities yet tucked away off the tourist trail.

We just love that within a short walk of Rowan Cottage, is Cubert Common with its undulating sandy grassland, which as walkers, we love. From here the stunning beaches of Polly Joke and Holywell Bay are so easily accessible.

We love that Rowan Cottage is cool and comfortable in summer, but relaxed and cosy - enhanced by the log burner, in chillier months. We have enclosed the pretty front and rear gardens so they are perfect for family friendly barbecues and entertaining guests.

All in all, Rowan Cottage is for us - the perfect "home from home" retreat. We love it!

Accommodation:

There is off road parking in the drive with a lockable five bar gate. Step down to the gravel and inset paved path where via the front door, you step directly into a lobby with storage for shoes and pegs for coats.

Downstairs:

Step from the porch into the hall to head directly up the stairs or turn left to the dining room and on into the Master Bedroom with en-suite, or turn right into the kitchen and on to the cosy and comfortable sitting room.

From the porch:

Turning right to the kitchen:

This fully fitted light and bright kitchen comes with Corian worktops, a double oven and hob, dishwasher, free standing stainless steel fridge/freezer and a washing machine. As ever, our well equipped cottages are a self catering delight - Rowan Cottage has Dualit kettle and Dualit toaster, as well as a Bosch Tassimo coffee machine for your use (a small number of capsules supplied for your first coffee). The kitchen enjoys an outlook over the front garden.

Through the door to the sitting room:

This lovely room has a double aspect with a window to the front garden and french doors to the courtyard garden behind. There is a comfortable seating for five adults on a sofa and two armchairs. There are occasional chairs around the cottage that can be used in the sitting room. Lounge around the log burner located in the large fireplace, watch the flat screen TV with DVD, or listen to relaxing music through the TV which plays CDs.

Turning left from the front door, and into the dining room:

This elegant room has a table seating 6 and a fireplace. There is a music system which can be used by guests, please bring CDs for your personal use.

A door from the dining room leads into the Master Bedroom Suite:

A really lovely room in which you can really indulge in and luxuriate in the country feel of Rowan Cottage. Here, you will find a comfy king size bedstead in a large bedroom with plenty of storage. There are french doors that lead to the courtyard garden. The large ensuite bathroom has both a bath and a separate shower enclosure. There is a Smart TV in this bedroom.

Upstairs:

There is a stairgate which can be placed either at the bottom or at the top of the stairs.

Upstairs you will find two further bedrooms and a bathroom:

To the left (at the top) of the stairs you will find Bedroom 3 with a cosy and comfortable 4'6" bed with shuttered windows overlooking the front garden. This bedroom has built in hanging space and shelving.

To the right of the stair well is Bedroom 2: This room can be laid out as a twin with 3' single beds or as a super king with a 6' bed. There is a built in wardrobe.

Between the two bedrooms on the landing, is the second bathroom. Here there is a bath, pedestal sink and WC. There is a thermostatic over-bath shower.

A cot and high chair is available. The base of the cot has minimal padding (it is a travel cot), so please bring your own mattress and bedding for the travel cot.

Garden

Rowan Cottage has a lovely garden. There is plenty of space for children to play. The garden has a combination of lawn, patio and gravel pathways. There is a hand held cold water shower - ideal for washing the sand away after a great day on the beach. The courtyard garden to the rear has sun most of the day and is a lovely retreat. There is a table with seating for eight with a Weber charcoal barbeque for guests to use for outdoors dining.

There is a summerhouse but this is locked and not for guests' use.
