Rowan Cottage, Commons Road, Cubert, TR8 5HW

Rowan Cottage sleeps up to 6 adults plus one child under 2 in a cot. Rowan Cottage is the ideal holiday cottage for families, groups of up to 3 couples and is ideal for parties with a guest who would prefer to not go upstairs as the Master Bedroom suite is on the ground floor and is accessible from the front of the house and the rear.

Rowan Cottage is the ultimate get-away. Located in the small hamlet of Tresean, between Cubert and Crantock and only a half a mile walk from Cubert Common which leads onto Polly Joke Beach.

Rowan Cottage is a detached, beautifully presented, delightful period cottage. The accommodation is laid out over two floors and surrounded by its beautiful enclosed garden.

Rowan Cottage has an enclosed garden, the front garden faces South West, so enjoys sun all day, and is laid to lawn with pretty flower beds. There is a patio with a comfortable seating area with lots of space for the whole party. There is plenty of room in the garden so surf boards, bikes and beach paraphernalia can be stored. To the rear there is a courtyard garden which has direct access via french doors from both the Sitting Room and Master Bedroom.

Rowan Cottage will appeal to those who enjoy being able to walk to the beach, yet be a short drive from all of Cornwall's sporting and other attractions. Rowan Cottage is easily accessible to the South West Coastal Path, which will also suit those who like to walk a bit further than to the beach and pub!


There is off road parking in the drive with a lockable five bar gate. Step down to the gravel and inset stepping stones where via the front door, you step directly into a lobby with storage for shoes and pegs for coats.


The hall leads up the stairs or left to the dining room and on to the Master Bedroom with en-suite, or right to the kitchen and on to the lovely sitting room.

Turn right to the kitchen:

This lovely kitchen looks over the front garden and is arranged in a L shape. The fully fitted light and bright kitchen comes with Corian worktops, a double oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washing machine. As ever, our well equipped cottages are a self catering delight.

Through the door to the sitting room:

This lovely room has a double aspect with a window to the front garden and french doors to the courtyard garden behind. There are two large double sofas, two upholstered wooden armchairs, a log burner, flat screen TV, HiFi, radio with iPod dock and DVD.

Turning left from the front door, into the dining room:

This elegant room has a table seating 6 and a fireplace. Bookshelves are fitted either side of the fireplace with a selection of books to peruse during your stay.

A door from the dining room leads into the Master Suite:

Here you will find a big comfy 5' bed and a large bedroom with plenty of storage and french doors that lead to the courtyard garden. The ensuite bathroom has both a bath and a separate shower enclosure. There is an additional TV in this bedroom

Upstairs you will find two further bedrooms and a bathroom:

To the left of the stairs you will find Bedroom 3 which has a lovely 4'6" bed. This bedroom has limited hanging space but plenty of drawer space.

On the right wing is Bedroom 2: This room can be laid out as a twin with 3' single beds or as a superking with a 6' bed. There is a sofa, plenty of storage and a built in wardrobe. Between the two bedrooms but not accessible from either, is the second bathroom. There is a full suite with an over-bath shower.

A cot and high chair is available.


Rowan Cottage has a lovely garden. There is plenty of space for children to play. The garden has a combination of lawn, patio and gravel pathways. The courtyard garden to the rear has sun most of the day and is a lovely retreat.

There is a summerhouse but this is locked and not for guests' use as it is used by the owner as an art studio.


Rowan Cottage enjoys full oil central heating and has a log burner.


There is a washing machine.


There is reasonable mobile telephone coverage, please check with your supplier.

Start Date

Holidays start at 16.00hrs on a Friday, unless a different date is specified or a short break is being taken.

How many guests will be staying?

We find that for Non-Peak weeks (ie: outside the school holidays, including all of July and August), the property is popular with couples and small groups of 2+, so we now offer a Reduced Occupancy rate for groups of this size outside the summer and holiday weeks.

For Non-Peak weeks, the displayed price is the discounted occupancy rate for up to 2 guests. If 3-6 guests are to stay then the 'No of Guests?' option when booking should be used for a larger group. If the 'No of Guests?' option is not displayed then the week is a Peak Week and the rate is for 6 guests. Up to one child under 2 years of age who uses a cot and high chair and does not occupy a bed, can be brought in addition to the number of guests allowed in a property at no additional charge.

Short Breaks

Short Breaks are sometimes available between November and March, except for Christmas, New Year and mid-February School Holidays. Please call or email if you are interested in a Short Break. Our charges for Short Breaks can be found on the left hand menu.

Rowan Cottage has parking spaces for at least two cars in the drive which is to one side in the garden.

Terms of Business

All bookings are subject to our Terms of Business which you will be asked to confirm before completing your order. For further information, select our Terms of Business on the left hand menu.

Reservation Deposit and Final Payment

If you are booking more than 2 months in advance, you can either pay in full or send us a Reservation Deposit of 25% of the rent - the balance is due 2 months before your booking - your booking form will show the full amount due.

Refundable Occupancy Deposit

A 50 per week Refundable Occupancy Deposit will be requested, which will be refunded following departure. Please see our Terms of Business for more details.

Utility Charges

Electricity and oil for central heating is included in the rental price.

Sheets and Towels

Included in the rental price is bed linen for each bed that has been booked and a hand towel for each basin, person and a bath towel, additionally there will be a shower mat for each shower or bath. Guests must provide their own beach or outdoor towels.
